Let me try to recap and capture my experience in the kyokushin summer camp organised by my sensei Simeon in Bulgaria last July. I have been training kyokushin for the past 20 years and I can honestly say this has been the most unique and enriching experience I have ever experienced in my kyokushin life.

I’m not going to delve into my personal life but I was in a pretty tough place mentally and this camp helped me so much physically and mentally. Needless to say, the 3 trainings a day were amazing and the quality of the instructors was very impressive but more than the trainings by themselves is the helped me realise that there is nothing you cannot achieve if you put your mind and will to it.

Waking up at 5 am to train sounded like a bad joke a few months ago and now I can’t stop. Meeting my sensei’s sensei was also very enriching. I’d never met someone so scary with such a big smile, a true kyokushin warrior.

Not only was this a personal experience it was also truly a team bonding one. Going back to the dojo will always sound like a little vacating now and I can’t wait for our next competition. beware of EMAR Team and I can’t wait to go back next year with my 2 boys.
